- passing an approved English language test with at least CEFR level A2 in reading, writing and level B1 speaking and listening.
Jobs in Denmark increasingly are requiring higher levels of skills. One skill that has never been more important is English language proficiency. If your English skills are poor, you will find it challenging to be shortlisted for roles when applying, and your choices of occupation severely circumscribed.
Should you make it through to the interview stage, that interview almost certainly will be conducted in English. If you cannot understand the questions or articulate your case for the role, your chances of being successful are remote.
Due to the information technology revolution, significant numbers of manual jobs have been automated. This has taken away many jobs that previously did not have overly burdensome English language requirements. This has resulted in job hunters needing to demonstrate greater English language proficiency to work effectively in more literate roles. Without those skills, workers may be locked out of significant sections of the labour market.
