First of all you will have to start with orientating on what you want, and what is
possible.

At this stage, ask yourself a number of questions such as:

• When can I go abroad and for how long?
• What are my learning objectives? What are the competences I would
  like to develop?
•  Is choosing an internship abroad my best option or what would be my
  other options?
• Where do I want to go to? And why do I want to go there?
• What do I expect from my experience abroad?
• Does this tie in with my study planning and finances?
• Do I believe I have sufficient stamina to cope with all the extra
  preparations this requires?
