Travelling to Denmark

It is a requirement that you must be able to present a corona passport at certain locations, which serves as documentation for either a full vaccination, a negative COVID-19 test or a previous infection. You have to show the Corona passport along with an identity document. You can present a valid Corona passport digitally via the MinSundhed app, on sundhed.dk or physically in paper form.

Employers can demand employees to show a valid coronapass

  • The employer can demand that employees shows a coronapass evidencing that they are either vaccinated or have been recently tested, and thus are not infected by the coronavirus.
  • It is up to the individual employer to decide what the consequences should be if an employee refuses to show a coronapass. This entails that the employer would be permitted to dismiss the employee without it being considered unfair dismissal under the Danish labour legislation.

Vaccination of Foreigners

There are several different groups of foreigners in Denmark, who are eligible to receive vaccination for COVID-19. Vaccination is free and voluntary.

To be eligible for a free COVID-19 vaccine, you must meet the following three criteria:

  1. The stay must have an expected duration of a minimum of 30 days.
  2. The purpose of your stay in Denmark must not be vaccination.
  3. You must be of an age, which is currently offered vaccination.

Remember a photo ID

  • If you don’t have a photo ID, you cannot be vaccinated. Therefore, remember ID or other proof of identity with a photo, e.g. your passport. If you are an EU citizen, you should also take your EU health insurance card
